Belgian Society for Human Genetics

The forum aimed at promoting Human Genetics in its wider sense.

Single cell ‘omics’ is evolving at an incredible pace with emerging genomic technologies. It is widely used in genetics – and in biological sciences – but will it be used in clinical practice? Hence the title: ‘Single cells, to care or not to care?’
The meeting comprises scientific sessions with invited keynote speakers at the plenary sessions and oral contributions from young investigators, selected from the best-scoring abstracts, in parallel sessions.

These will be complemented by poster presentations and visits to the exhibitors’ booths.

Abstract submission (deadline: 31/01/2024)

DNA day 2024

We are pleased to announce the 17th DNA day contest organized by the ESHG.

We invite every student (14-19 years old) to submit a written essay or a video that answers this question:

Ask an Artificial Intelligence chat of your choice to write a 350 word essay on the topic: “Is the human Y-chromosome vanishing in the future?” In a 750 word essay of your own, discuss the result and its consequences, should the public believe the content of the A.I. essay was actually true.

Beside ESHG, the BeSHG will decern a prize for the best Belgian essay or video.

Deadline for submission: April 25, 2024, 24.00 hrs CET.  DNA day website    Submission instruction: essay and video
